20 05 2011

It’s how long it has been since I’ve blogged, and that is not because I don’t absolutely adore it.  It’s because I haven’t found the time to tell life to take a step back and let me breathe.

In this span of time I’ve been in a theatre production, travelled half way around the world and back, been to a round 3 Vancouver Canucks playoff game, met a lot of new people, and learned even more, about even more, than all that. Read the rest of this entry »

29 11 2010

For Eid, the folks got me a Canon EOS Rebel T2i, and I thank them very, very much.  Tested it out at my darling baby cousin’s birthday party.  It’s simply amazing. Read the rest of this entry »

lah dee dah :)

28 11 2010

So yesterday I realized some pretty important stuff.

1) I need to figure out where I’m going to be after next year.  Like, SOON.  It’s pretty crazy to think I’m actually going to be graduating in less than two years.  I feel really old.  For a Senior Planning assignment I took a ‘Career Matchmaker’ quiz (with 161 questions, to be exact) and the answers were fairly insightful.  I’m quite sure I want to study Journalism post secondary.  (UC Berekly has this pretty awesome Journalism grad school…not to far from home, pretty cool looking campus with a siiikkk MSA, and hello, Cali-Forniii-YAY!  Slightly in love with that citrus state. defs be looking into it.) The career suggestions from http://www.careercruising.com/MatchMaker/ pleasantly surprised me, with a good number falling beneath the Media and Publishing sector.  Really liked being somewhat reassured my thought’s at the moment aren’t completely off track.  Got slightly carried away and even tried a practice SAT, which wasn’t too bad at all! Next step shall be yapping ze future plans (imagine the French accent sil vous plaitavec ze parents ;)

2) I miss blogging. Hence, this post. Read the rest of this entry »

because everyone want’s to know more about Jany-Eve :)

11 06 2010

So there’s this saying, that goes something like “Behind every great man is a woman,” and I believe it’s true more often then not!  If you’ve read some of my previous posts, it’s hard not to notice that I am, much like the rest of our great country, a huge fan of freestyle skier, Alexandre Bilodeau.  I’m just saying this because, you may or may not know, Alex Bilodeau, as cool as he is himself, has a pretty cool girlfriend, I think their coolness makes them quite compatible. pinching myself. that’s all.

13 04 2010

I told myself that I wouldn’t let it happen.  It was almost like a pinky promise, but not as sacred, if you know what I mean.

All I can say, with my head hanging in embarrassment, is that things happen.  I know, the worlds saddest excuse, but hey, back in the day (aka Feb 2O1O) I had a bunch of things thrown aside (namely school). Read the rest of this entry »

Bryan Adams was onto something when he said, “I guess nothin’ can last forever, forever. no.”

4 03 2010

I started to write this post while sitting at the O Zone, on Sunday night, after playing not so well during our (cosom hockey) game vs. the Cobras, and I was really tired and upset.  I didn’t even get to watch the whole closing ceremonies.  Feeling that it wasn’t just to let my foul mood ruin the post, I didn’t bother.  February 28, 2010 will be a day I, along with the rest of the nation, and part of the world, will remember forever.  This is how I spent it: Read the rest of this entry »

the short track speed skaters are way too cool

27 02 2010

So if you’ve been reading any of my other posts, you’ll probably notice that I over use the word cool.  But that’s the best way to describe all these awesome people I’ve been meeting.  This particular team of athletes definitely stood out to me, for a few reasons.

The Canadian Men's Short Track Speed Skating Team (from left to right) Guillaume Bastille (24), Francois Hamelin (23), Francois-Louis Tremblay (29), Charles Hamelin (25), and Olivier Jean (25)

Met the CEO and Chef de Mission . . . yeah no big deal

27 02 2010

So on Thursday, John Furlong and Natalie Lambert were at the Vancouver Public Library, downtown, to view and participating in the Olympic Truce “Make Your Peace” art exhibit.  Though it was brief, both were very enthusiastic about the art work, and meeting with us! Mr. Furlong mentioned that after the Games finished, he would be running away and hiding.  It was also cool to meet Ms. Lambert, since she’s the other Chef de Mission, with Steve Podborski.  Here are some pictures :)
